P. Schloss shared, "Earlier this year I went to Mexico
to visit an old friend whom I had not seen since college. He and his wife have
a beautiful home in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, on the Pacific. This
little town an hour north of Cabo San Lucas is known as an art center, with
many expatriates and local artists. I visited an art gallery one day where I
saw a very large version of the picture I bought. I met the artist that day and
it turned out that she was neighbors ... with my friends. She showed my some of
her other work but nothing captured my heart like the picture you framed. Her
name is Emanuela Gardner, and if you like her work you can search her on the
web......" See the full story on our facebook page.
A. Lewis says, "This is a garden scene that will be an item to be raffled of during the 2015 Hillsborough Garden Tour. It is always a great experience here- they always make all my projects look even better!'
S.Upchurch says, "I met my husband skydiving. I was one of his instructors. When he renewed his license this is what my "Dave" had created. It has been 24 great years. Happy Anniversary!!"
As for her experience here at Yesterday and Today Frame Shop, she shared that it was "Great, very knowledgeable. This is where I always come."
L. Collins shared, "Family has always been important to me. Recently my 92 year-old mother offered us children our choice of a few fancy hand stitched items that she'd been saving because they were important to her. I chose the largest of these pieces--a table centerpiece made from fine linen, loops of linen tape, and embroidery. My mother believes it was made by her paternal grandmother, who was born in 1856 and died in 1932 when she was nine. I have heard stories of how my mother and her two older sisters took turns sleeping in this grandmother's room to be available to her in the night. My great-grandmother was remembered as a tiny woman who tatted and sewed with tiny stitches. I am pleased to have this beautiful example of her work."
M/C Moore says, "My aunt trained extensively in the far east and Northern Africa in the 1940's. She purchased some interesting items when she lived in Hong Kong. Before she went to an assisted living facility in Florida, she gave us several of her "treasures". We wanted to frame it and place under glass so it could be better protected. Every time we see it hanging on the wall, we think of my aunt who is now deceased.
Sherry picked out the perfect frame and matting to showcase this piece of artwork. Couldn't be more pleased."
K.S. had this to say, "This very special piece of artwork was created by my mother-in-law, who is 89 years old, still lives independently, and keeps busy with her needle arts. The framed piece looks like a painting but it is actually thousands of tiny cross stitch squares and yards of embroidery thread carefully stitched by her skilled hands."(Full story featured on our Facebook page)
E.E says, "This item is special to me because my mother brought it back for me from Italy. I love Yesterday and Today Frame Shop. Sherry has an amazing eye and is very artistic. She always helps me pick a beautiful frame and helps me figure out how to frame a piece so that it brings out the beauty of the piece. She's also incredibly friendly and we just love going into the store. From my favorite artwork to my diploma, they've done an amazing job framing all of my most precious things! I can't recommend them enough."
